About the concept
Welcome to "Wish You Were Here," a special series born from a poignant moment of reflection and connection. This collection was inspired by a conversation with my mother during her time in intensive care. Though my mother has since passed, the memory of that conversation and her love for the sea spurred me to create this series. "Wish You Were Here" is a tribute to the joy and calm of significant places and the emotional connections they have to myself and others.
"Wish You Were Here" began as a means of coping with grief but has evolved into a celebration of life and happiness.
Techniques used
This is a unique one-of-a-kind original, derived from photography, then broken down and rebuilt digitally to create a style and composition that is a hallmark of Kingman's work. The piece is then lovingly and painstakingly created physically using techniques such as spray painting, stencil making, hand painting, screenprinting and other finishing methods to bring the artwork to life.
